Samsung Galaxy S24 series will offer Exynos and Snapdragon dual versions
At the beginning of the year, the new Samsung Galaxy S23 series was released, including three versions of Galaxy S23, Galaxy S23+ and Galaxy S23 Ultra. The whole series is equipped with an overclocked version of Snapdragon 8 Gen 2. It has been upgraded to 3.36GHz, compared with the 3.2 GHz main frequency of the ordinary version, the limit performance is stronger. As time enters the second half of the year, the new generation of flagship chip Snapdragon 8 Gen3 chip will be unveiled soon, and everyone has given a lot of expectations to the first batch of Galaxy S24 series equipped with this chip. And now there is the latest news. Recently, foreign media revealed that Samsung’s own Exynos processor will also usher in the return of this series.
Like the previous Samsung Galaxy S series, Samsung may plan to re-bring its own Exynos and Galaxy S on the new Samsung Galaxy S24 series after the Galaxy S23 series. Qualcomm Snapdragon has two different processors, of which the Exynos 2400 processor version will be mainly launched in the European market, while other markets such as the United States will use the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 version. According to related reports, the Exynos 2400 chip will adopt a 1+2+3+4 ten-core four-cluster architecture, including a Cortex-X4 super core with a main frequency of 3.10GHz, two Cortex-A720 large cores with a main frequency of 2.90GHz. Core, three Cortex-A720 cores with a main frequency of 2.60GHz and four Cortex-A520 performance cores with a main frequency of 1.80GHz are much better than the previous Exynos2200 chip in terms of performance, which is why it can return.
In other respects, according to previously exposed news, the new Samsung Galaxy S24 series will continue to include three versions of the Galaxy S24, Galaxy S24+ and Galaxy S24 Ultra. In addition to the Exynos 2400 version, the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen3 version will also be provided. It adopts 1+5+2 architecture, manufactured by TSMC, and the process is upgraded to N4P. It is the most powerful Snapdragon 5G chip so far. Compared with the current Snapdragon 8 Gen2, the former will add a large core and reduce a small core, and the 5 large cores are the first time in the history of Snapdragon 5G Soc, and the super large core will be upgraded to Cortex X4, the frequency Up to 3.7GHz, peak performance increased by 15%, power consumption is 40% lower than Cortex X3, and Cortex X4 supports a maximum of 2M L2 cache memory, which is only about 10% larger than Cortex X3. In addition, the GPU of Snapdragon 8 Gen3 is upgraded to Adreno 750.
It is reported that the new Snapdragon 8 Gen3 is expected to be unveiled at the Snapdragon Technology Summit held on October 24-26, and the Samsung Galaxy S24 series will continue to be the first users of the chip. We will wait and see for more details.
