Huawei P70 Art Leaks
Huawei P70 Art will be equipped with good image upgrades. The latest news is that this high-end model may use a 50MP ultra-wide-angle lens and a 50MP periscope telephoto lens. Now we have some concrete leaks on the phone’s image details.
Digital blogger Digital Chat Station revealed that Huawei P70 Art will use a three-camera system, including a 50MP IMX 989 main camera with variable aperture technology, a 50MP ultra-wide-angle lens, and a 50MP periscope camera with 4x zoom function Telephoto macro lens.
Overall camera specs are pretty consistent with previous reports. However, the source said there may be some changes to these specifications. Perhaps, Huawei may adjust the optical structure to a greater extent to improve user experience.
It’s no secret that Huawei is developing effective new imaging solutions for its upcoming P-series smartphones. There is no doubt that these changes will bring users unprecedented and compelling photography capabilities. Because Huawei P series has always been the benchmark for imaging.
Starting from the main camera, the 50 MP IMX 989 sensor may use a (1G+6P) glass-plastic hybrid lens, which will improve the image quality as well as the capabilities of the IMX 989 sensor. Additionally, the variable aperture will help maximize the amount of light admitted for iconic nighttime images.
Optical lenses can be divided into three types according to materials: glass lenses, plastic lenses and glass-plastic hybrid lenses. What are the differences?
Camera lenses are mainly divided into plastic lenses, glass lenses and glass-plastic hybrid lenses. Compared with plastic lenses, glass lenses have better light transmittance, better chemical stability, and are thinner. Plastic lenses have limited room for improvement and glass lenses are more expensive. Glass-plastic hybrid lenses are expected to bring lower costs and larger space and become a new trend.
The cost of the 1G+6P glass-plastic hybrid lens is US$12, which can be reduced to US$6-7 in the mass production stage. It provides higher quality and clear pixels. It also reduces chromatic aberration, allowing for clear, detailed and vibrant photos. According to Lianchuang Electronics data, the 6P1G glass-plastic hybrid lens is 0.3mm thinner than the mainstream 7P lens, which can save more space.
Ming-Chi Kuo previously said that Huawei will launch a new flagship model, the P70, in the first half of this year, using a glass-plastic hybrid lens. The Huawei P70 series may achieve a strong year-on-year growth of 230%. Shipments are approximately 13 million to 15 million units. Even if there are some supply chain and restocking issues, the analyst believes that P70 sales are expected to reach 10 million to 12 million units after release, a year-on-year increase of 150%.
